It’s not things that matter.

Throughout my life, I’ve heard people comment when someone passes away that they died with nothing. Dan and I had this very conversation this morning, not about anyone in particular, but that others do seem bothered when a person leaves this earth with nothing.

With us limiting our ‘things’ to a small storage unit and our living space to a considerably smaller space, we won’t have the same number of ‘must haves’ we used to and I truly believe we will be the better for it.

In giving this subject even more thought, it occurred to me that when we were born, we arrived with nothing. What’s the problem if that’s how we leave? As the saying goes, you can’t take it with you. And while a person may not have a huge amount of material things, who’s to say they still didn’t lead a happy and fulfilling life?

Who knew deciding to become a full-time RV’er, at least for a year or more, would be so thought provoking.
